Member HBio Dr George Loudos is co-founder and CEO of BIOEMTECH with main interest in developing imaging systems for preclinical and nanomedicine drug research. Starting from Academia, he has decided to put his effort towards the design and development of new products and services, which can speed up the daily work of numerous research groups worldwide, combining high performance and affordable cost. Today, BIOEMTECH has its own premises at the Technological Park Lefkippos of Demokritos research center that include an animal facility, in vitro, radiochemistry and in vivo imaging lab. Recently BIOEMTECH received funding from Metavallon Venture Capital to support the sales and marketing of its products and penetration in international market. He received his Diploma in Electrical Engineering and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from National Technical University of Athens, in 1998 and 2003 respectively. Since 2008 he is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, at University of West Attica. He has participated as a coordinator or partner in 20 EU projects, as well as 2 National Excellence grants and several smaller national and other projects, having attracted more than 6M€ of funding. He has more than 110 articles and 250 conference presentations and has given more than 50 invited lectures and holds one patent. He has been organizer of many international conferences, workshops and training schools. He is a founding member of the Hellenic Society of Nanomedicine in Health Sciences and rather active in international networks. |
