UniHealth has been featured in Projects Magazine 46 – Rethinking Health, published by Insight Media, in an interview highlighting the project's vision for strengthening pandemic preparedness through accessible, decentralized molecular diagnostics.
In the interview, Prof. Electra Gizeli (Project Coordinator and Group Leader at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology -IMBB- at FORTH), Dr. Anastasia Galanopoulou (Scientific Manager, FORTH) and Stamatiki Kritas (Dissemination Lead, Managing Director of CEBR and Cluster Manager of the Hellenic BioCluster - HBio) discuss how UniHealth is building an integrated diagnostic ecosystem capable of delivering rapid, reliable and affordable point-of-care testing for future infectious disease outbreaks.
The conversation explores the project's innovative technologies, including portable molecular diagnostic platforms, adaptable assay development pipelines and connected surveillance solutions, while also addressing the importance of regulatory readiness, manufacturing accessibility, multidisciplinary collaboration and public trust. Together, these elements form the foundation of a more resilient and equitable approach to global health preparedness.
