Organoids are transforming the future of drug discovery by providing more predictive, human-relevant models for disease research, target validation and preclinical testing. Their ability to better replicate human tissue biology has the potential to accelerate the development of safer and more effective therapies while reducing reliance on traditional animal models.
As part of the BIO-RED I3 project, this Thematic Lab will bring together researchers, industry leaders, SMEs, healthcare providers, investors and innovation stakeholders to explore the latest advances in organoid technologies and their application across the drug discovery pipeline. Through a fire side chat and interactive discussions, participants will identify the key scientific, technological, regulatory and commercial challenges that are limiting the wider adoption and scaling of organoid-based solutions.
The outcomes of the Thematic Lab will lead the BIO-RED Hackathon, where multidisciplinary teams will work together to develop innovative solutions to address the most pressing barriers and unlock new opportunities for collaboration, technology transfer, and market adoption across European regional innovation ecosystems.
