HBio is the newest International Council of Biotechnology Associations (ICBA).
BIO 2025 in Boston opened with the annual meeting of the ICBA. The world's biotech associations came together to talk about where they see the future together - voices in sync to towards national governments and as a global messenger for innovative biotech. Australia, Canada, Cost Rica, France, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK and US were connected in BIO US.
HBio is part of the SafeTouch, an EU-funded Horizon project and participated in the official kick-off meeting on 13-14 May in Athens.

SafeTouch, under the coordination of Prof. Nikos Chronis from the National Technical University of Athens, aims to develop smart, self-decontaminating surfaces to be integrated into a variety of products in sectors such as healthcare, transportation, hospitality, food processing and manufacturing reducing the indirect transition of pathogens.
HBio is part of the EU-funded project UniHealth and participated in the first annual meeting in Tunis on the 7th and 8th of January 2025.
UniHealth consortium gathered in Tunis on the 7th and 8th of January 2025 to showcase the first tangible results of the project and how the project is shaping the future of global pandemic preparedness. Dr. Konstantina Karamanou was present, highlighting during her talk the communication channels already built and explained how they raise awareness on a multi-stakeholder approach.
On 21st March 2025, Dr. Ioanna Koukli was invited at the Special Permanent Committee on Research and Technology and the Standing Committee on Social Affairs in the Hellenic Parliament during the session "Clinical Trials in Greece".
Dr. Ioanna Koukli presented the launch of new state interventions aiming to reduce bureaucracy and enhance Greece’s competitiveness in the global clinical trials field as a solid step towards the future. Measures for the strengthening of clinical studies in Greece, such as training of healthcare workers (HCWs) involved in clinical research, raising awareness of the patients regarding the benefits of recruitment and financial incentives for investments were also proposed.
