Nanothinx S.A. is a technology company founded in November 2005 as a spin-off enterprise of the Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences (FORTH/ICE-HT). The company produces carbon nanotubes of a very high purity “as produced” (higher than 98% for multi-walled carbon nanotubes – MWCNTs) and CNTs of specific properties on demand, based on the characteristics requested by the clients. Additionally, Nanothinx provides consulting services for the incorporation of nanotubes in materials in order to exploit their special characteristics, either under commercial agreements or through its wide network of research partners.
Nanothinx’s products related to bioapplications
• High Purity Multi-Walled CNTs (up to 98.5% over catalyst, as-produced) ideal for use in biomedical applications. These materials have been successfully used in research for biomedical applications (drug delivery systems, in biocompatible implants, biosensors, neuronal stimulation composites, etc.).
• Aligned multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs arrays). This category of nanotubes could be used, among other applications, as scaffolds for tissue engineering processes.
